This November 2018 Thursday Nite Live celebrates 7 years of presenting the best live acoustic, jazz, fusion and roots music in Nairobi. This week we feature vocalist, keyboardist and band leader Chris Adwar and The Villagers Band.

Chris Adwar and the Villagers Band is a 6 piece band consisting of some of Nairobis most accomplished musicians.

The band was formed in 2005 and has since supported a stellar array of artists from all over the world. The list of artistes includes well know names such as Eric Wainaina, Jua Cali, Nonini, P-Unit, Wahu, Winyo, Nina Ogot, Nameless, Amani, Sara Mitaru, Kanjii Mbugua, Atemi Oyungu, Dan Chizi Aceda, V.U.C (Voices United Choir), Lam (Sudan), Naakaya (Tanzania), Thabani (Zimbabwe/UK), Bobby Rickets (U.S.A/Denmark), Johnny Clegg (S.A), Kirk Franklin (U.S.A), Shaggy (USA) and Freshlyground (S.A).

In 2008, they put together a limited release EP
Bengenge Coming Soon; which was a compilation of some of the bands recorded material, previously not available to the public.

In January 2010, TVB put out their sophomore album, The Nofork Hotel. The album was produced by Chris Adwar and the songs are written in 3 languages; Dholuo, Swahili and English.
The Nofork Hotel was well received locally and has accorded the band opportunities to play in a series of festivals and concert series in and outside Kenya. These include:
