Pilani Bubu is a self funded and self-published Independent artist, with a unique voice, a niche sound and style in a fusion of genres: folk, soul, jazz & funk.

Her music is old souled yet still so catchy. Her voice is unique with a cohesive global sound and great cross over appeal. She is storyteller at heart, and an intentional performer. Pilani is also an inspirational speaker, TV Presenter & Designer.

In the last 8 years as an emerging artist, shes performed her music both locally and globally with repeat performances at music venues & platforms in some of her favourite cities around the world:
New Orleans (US), London (UK), Toulouse (France), Lagos (Nigeria), Maputo (Mozambique), Accra (Ghana) and Nairobi (Kenya).

She is currently filming a personal vlog and documentary titled: ‘Travel With Music’.
She has two album releases: ‘Journey of a Heart’ – 2012 & ‘Warrior of Light’ – 2016) & three successful radio singles from each: ‘Miss Understood’, ‘Sweet Love’ and ‘Boom Che’. All play-listed on 41 Radio Stations across South Africa.

Her latest singles ‘Boom Che’ and ‘Baile’ released in 2018, form part of her forthcoming album: ‘Folklore” .
A collaborative album with Kenyan collective EA Wave is also in production.
