Kenyan soulful singer and songwriter SERRO, is continuously building an appellation for herself as one of Kenyas top live performers. SERRO is out to tell the African story through her Benga and Jazz-fused Afro-soul sound laced with traditional Kenyan folk sounds. A multi-instrumentalist (Guitar, Drums, and Percussions), SERROs goal is to be the go to name when one thinks of live music in Africa.
Influenced by Yemi Alade, Amanda Black, Sautisol and Beyonce, SERRO has cemented her presence in the Kenyan music scene as one of the artists to watch. SERRO released her debut single Rongai in 2016, whose audio was produced by Polycarp Fancy Fingers Otieno of Sauti-Sol and video directed by VjOne.
After taking a brief hiatus to complete her music degree, SERRO returned to the scene with the release of Okello, a soulful ballad that was produced by Mutoriah and video directed by the famed Johnson Kyalo. 2018 was a monumental year for SERRO as she released her 12-track debut Album KUWE. The albums release was pre-ceded by the Dunia her third single produced by Mutoriah and whose video was directed by KG Brian.
Her larger-than-life stage persona has seen her grace multiple stages alongside her 5-piece band The Charactaz, including; Jamhuri Festival, Sondeka Festival, ONGEA Music Summit, The GoDown Gig, Pawa Festival, UTAM Festival, An Evening of Afro-Jazz, Cake Art Affair among others.
