This week Thursday Nite Live features the Afro Pop of Congolese artist BANY. View his profile below.
Bany, from his real name Bigomokero Banyabo Blaise, is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, performer and dancer. Born and raised in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, he came to Kenya in 2008 for school. Graduated with a Bachelor in Business Information Technology in Strathmore University and with a Master in Business Administration in Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Bany has embarked in a career that has little to do with what he went to school for; Music.
Growing up, Bany has been singing and dancing from church choir to school shows and this is where he developed love for music. But it is until his last year of secondary school when he learned his first guitar chords that he is determined to make it a career.
Being in a completely new in Nairobi, it takes him time to settle his music until he lands a contract at Kengeles in Lavington for a band night every month for more than a year. With his band called Bany And Band, they do different gigs from weddings, festivals to Godown Live, Choices and many more.
After some time, he felt the need to grow his brand and that is when he stopped doing band nights and went to studio to write record and release songs.
Last year, he released Nikupe Mapenzi which was produced by MG and directed by Mushking. And now, he is riding on his latest release Zubeda, produced by Ihaji and directed by Moses Osidiana.
